Sunday is a day of on-the-water activities
Sunday’s events will take place at beautiful Sullivan’s Bay, Mahurangi West Regional Park. This beautiful park, at the mouth of the Mahurangi estuary, offers a wonderful location to take to the ocean in small ‘Pod’ groups – for fun and learning. From Sullivan’s, dozens of nearby bays, beaches and islands are accessible. After the activities, everyone will head back to the beach for the BBQ and then the afternoon will offer a variety of workshops – again on the water.

Where you’ll be in pods for on-the-water activities
Sunday morning features the justly famous, on-the-water, ‘pod’ session (don’t leave your boat at home). Pods have been very popular in the past. Pod members are introduced early in the weekend to help you meet new friends. You’ll have team-mates for the whole week-end, no wandering round, not knowing anyone. On Sunday you’ll stay with your new pod friends with mixed levels of skills and experience – so that you’ll get much more from the exercises than just a nice day’s paddle.

BBQ at the beach | |
Bring your own favourite drink – but you may want to leave the beer for the end of the day. There’s lots to do in the afternoon.
And after the BBQ with your new and old friends, it’s on to the afternoon workshops
A number of workshops will let you expand your experience. Try Greenland rolling and paddling skills, skin-on-frame and wooden boat sampling with owners’ permission, refresher on standard rescue techniques – the list is growing!.
