IKW is going to be tremendous. At least 7 different countries are contributing seasoned paddlers or high-level instructors to the mix, aside from paddlers from throughout NZ. Yes, it'll be laid-back, but it won't be boring ! New what-to-bring list and helpful-info file available on the IKW page. Last time, you said it was over too soon. See IKW link (at left) for the story. |

We expect Coastbusters 2008 to fill up fast. The Programme Programme currently being finalised Also see Speakers & Topics And the Sunday On the Water activities You said we couldn’t beat the last event First NZ International Kayak Festival / NZKBGT As in the past, Coastbusters runs Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. There has been pressure to extend it – and we’ve listened. Now, the fun can continue - but in the form of two separate events. The week following CB-2008 (Monday-Thursday, March 3,4,5,6) will be packed with Kayak events, celebrating the Hauraki Gulf and the kayaking opportunities in the Auckland area. We're calling it IKW (International Kayaking Week). Choices of day-trips, overnight-touring, competitions and The goals are minimal-cost, good kayaking and good fun on and off the Hauraki Gulf. We intend it to work for Aucklanders and for visitors from near and far – South Islanders, Australians, Germans, Americans – we aim to make it work for all. Unfortunately, numbers will be limited for a number of the events and priority will be given to CB-2008 attendees. Sign up for CB-2008 without delay, to get in the queue. Have a look here for more info on the IKW. The weekend after CB-2008 (Friday-Sunday, March 7,8,9) will be the NZ Kayak Builders’ Get-Together (NZKBGT). This much-loved event is a super-laid-back weekend Hint: Just pretend you’re planning to build your own kayak one day – and go... It’s open to everybody! Have a look here for more info on the NZKBGT. Kayakers from the South Island, Australia and further afield now have a 10-day long kayaking bonanza – to make the travelling even more worthwhile. Think seriously about planning on a whole week of kayaking first week of March, next year. |
